Drama

Do you know one of those people who just seem to thrive off of drama in his or her life? I’ve known a few in my time. A little while ago I had to tell a friend that I couldn’t have his betrothed around me any more. The woman was causing my marriage and therefore my life entirely too much stress.

So I thought I was done with it. My friend decided to cut me off since I cut her off. That’s kind of fair, I guess. He stood by her. But she’s still causing stress for my other friends. And these are friends that don’t need the grief right now. She’s pregnant and he’s got a very demanding job. It just boggles my mind how she comes up with her little ideas.

Basically, she’s been treating my pregnant friend like shit. She has been completely ignoring her to her face. To the point where my friend would try to say hello to her and the woman would complete shun her. Even carry on a conversation with a person next to her but avoid even acknowledging her existence. This wouldn’t be so bad if her fiancĂ© didn’t start doing the same thing when he was with her.

So my friend decided that he could no longer be the best man in this wedding. Clearly, they didn’t respect his wife at all. How was he going to be in a wedding when his wife had been “fired” from it? This was going to cause him far too much trouble. How awkward would it be for them?

So he did the rational thing. He spoke to the guy getting married about it and let him know politely that he couldn’t be in the wedding any more. Of course, this sets the woman ablaze. And she turned to the internet to share her feelings. Because that’s the most mature thing to do. One should blast the story across Facebook instead of doing anything at all in order to try to resolve the situation.

When I was in the situation where she was giving my wife and I the cold shoulder, we tried to call her and her fiancĂ© dozens of times. Of course, they didn’t want to actually talk. They would rather blast people on Facebook so that people who don’t know the whole story could rally to the unjust cause. And surely this is the work of a 13 year old little girl, right? No. This woman is in her thirties. What a joke? Yes.

In the end, I just hope that this is the last that we will have to deal with this woman. She is obviously unhappy with herself and must take out her own emotional insecurities on everyone around her. I’m just happy that everyone else is figuring her out.
